In 2020, two-Michelin-star chef Thierry Thys partnered with architect Dieter Vander Velpen to redesign his restaurant Nuance into an immersive fine dining experience. In 2019, they joined Angelo Rizzi on a journey to Italy to hand-select a 20-ton block of Dedalus quartzite, chosen for its expressive veining and depth. Il Granito transformed the block into both slabs and solid segments, which were used to sculpt two monumental arch elements within the space. The veining was carefully aligned to flow seamlessly from the massive forms into the surrounding panels. A project where the precision of haute cuisine meets the artistry of stone.
